Medical Rip – Off

Yesterday I discovered an amazing thing. My dog was diagnosed with a hyperactive thyroid condition. As a result she was prescribed a pill twice a day. Since my vets office is on the opposites side of town the vet suggested since the medication was exactly the same as what is prescribed for humans I could obtain it at the local Walgreens rather than drive all the way to the vet for it. She then called in a prescription so I could pick it up at the pharmacy. The price for a 40 day supply at the Vet office was 25.00 When I got to Walgreens their price was $125.00 for the exact same pill. I told them no went back to the Vet and got it for $25.00 The pill was indeed the same pharmacy grade medication and identical manufacturer product even had same UPC on the bottle. Guess people get the rip-off. $100 difference in price for the canine patient vs whatever human patients are paying.
